Terms of Service
1. The service
ThatTeslaLightshow lets you create custom light-show sequences for compatible Tesla vehicles and export them as files you load onto a USB drive. We provide the software that builds the light sequence; you supply the music and run the show on your own vehicle. It also includes Wrap Studio, a free tool for designing digital wrap images for compatible Tesla vehicles.
2. Your account
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login secure. You must provide accurate information and be at least 13 years old to use the service.
3. Payments
- Light shows: your first export is free. After that, exports are available per-export or through a subscription, at the prices shown at checkout. Wrap designs are free to create and download.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel anytime and keep access through the end of your billing period.
- Because exported files are delivered digitally and immediately, payments are generally non-refundable except where required by law or at our discretion.
4. Music & content rights
Choreography by us. Soundtrack by you. The music belongs to the artists who made it, and we'd rather honor the copyright that protects their work than tiptoe around it. So our product is the light choreography, never the music. When you upload an audio file, you confirm that you own it or have the rights to use it to create a personal light show. We use your upload only to analyze the song and build your light sequence, and we permanently delete that audio the moment you export. We do not own, license, sell, store, or redistribute your music, and your export contains the light sequence (.fseq) only, with no audio. To run a show, you supply your own copy of the song. This keeps you, and us, on the right side of the music.
You retain ownership of the shows you create. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any audio you upload or use to run a show. You agree not to upload audio you do not have the right to use.
The same principle applies to wrap images: when you upload a photo or logo to Wrap Studio, you confirm you own it or have the rights to use it. Wrap designs and their uploaded images stay private to your account; we store them so you can keep editing, and we never publish or redistribute them. You are responsible for the content of any wrap you apply to your vehicle, and you agree not to upload images you do not have the right to use.
5. Sharing & community shows
If you make a show public or submit it to the Light Show Library, you grant other users permission to view and acquire a copy of that show. Community shows are choreography only: the light sequence plus basic song metadata (title, artist, tempo); no audio is ever shared, and anyone running a community show brings their own copy of the song. You, not ThatTeslaLightshow, are responsible for the content you choose to make public. We may remove any show at our discretion.
6. Vehicle safety & assumption of risk (important)
Light shows command your vehicle's lights and can command its physical closures to move: doors (including falcon-wing doors), windows, mirrors, the liftgate/frunk, and the charge port. To make shows feel their best, closure choreography is included by default; you can turn it off in the builder (uncheck "Auto-choreograph closures to the music") to keep any show lights-only. You run light shows entirely at your own risk. Before running any show:
- Make sure your vehicle has clear space around it for any doors, windows, mirrors, or the liftgate to move safely.
- Keep people, pets, and objects away from all moving parts.
- Follow Tesla's own on-screen confirmation, guidance, and safety warnings for custom light shows.
By creating, downloading, or running any light show, you acknowledge and agree that you do so entirely at your own risk and that you assume all risk and liability for any damage to your vehicle (including its doors, windows, mirrors, liftgate, frunk, charge port, lights, paint, electronics, and any other component) and for any property damage, personal injury, or loss, to you or to anyone else, arising from running a show or from the movement of your vehicle's closures or the operation of its lights. We design shows to stay within Tesla's published limits, but you are solely responsible for safe operation, for ensuring adequate clearance, and for complying with Tesla's warnings and all applicable laws. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless ThatTeslaLightshow, its owner, and its affiliates from any and all claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses of any kind resulting from your use of any light show or from the movement or operation of your vehicle.
7. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the service: no unlawful content, no infringing on others' rights, no attempting to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the platform, and no reselling the service itself.
8. Not affiliated with Tesla
ThatTeslaLightshow is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Tesla, Inc. "Tesla" and related marks are trademarks of Tesla, Inc. Vehicle compatibility and the light-show feature are controlled by Tesla and may change.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that every show will work on every vehicle or software version, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ThatTeslaLightshow will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any vehicle damage or personal injury (including any arising from the movement of your vehicle's closures or the operation of its lights) arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Termination
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. We will update the "last updated" date, and continued use after changes means you accept them.
