Tesla's wrap template is not a picture of a car. It is an exploded die-cut: one drawn piece per body panel, arranged to fill a square sheet rather than to look like anything. A door column is drawn standing on end. The Cybertruck's upper flank band is drawn wheels-up.
So a logo you place upright on the sheet is upright on the sheet. On the car it lands turned: a quarter turn on the door columns and the fenders, a half turn on the pieces drawn wheels-up. Most people only find out once the wrap is already on the screen. The fix is to turn art on the side pieces so its top faces the middle of the template, which is not something anyone would guess.
Wrap Studio reads the same panel map its 3D preview uses, so it can tell you at the moment you place an image: this piece wraps the driver's door, and as placed it will read sideways on the car. Then it offers to turn it. We measured those rotations on a real template rather than assuming them.
Because Tesla's template is an exploded die-cut, not a picture of a car. Each body panel is drawn as its own piece and packed to fill a square sheet, so the door columns are drawn standing on end and the Cybertruck's upper flank band is drawn wheels-up. Art placed upright on the sheet therefore lands rotated on the car. Side pieces need their art turned so its top faces the middle of the template. Yes, and this is the most common reason a wrap comes out wrong. Tesla publishes separate templates per variant, so a design cut for the original Model Y will not line up on a 2025+ Model Y, and a Model 3 template will not line up on the 2024+ refresh. Wrap Studio carries all 12 official variants, including Model Y L, and designs against the one you pick.
A PNG image, between 512x512 and 1024x1024 pixels, under 1 MB, with a simple filename (letters, numbers, spaces, dashes, underscores). Wrap Studio exports files that meet the spec exactly, sized to the official template for your model.
Easiest way: save the PNG to your phone, then in the Tesla app go to Creations, then Wrap, then Upload (requires the 2026 Summer Update and app v4.59.0 or newer). Apply it on the car screen from Toybox, then Paint Shop, then Wraps. No update yet? Copy the PNG into a folder named Wraps at the root of a USB drive and plug it into the car instead.
