Three shows in one, exactly like the song: a soft glow through the ballad, frantic side-to-side flicker for the opera section, and a full-body headbang for the hard-rock finale. At 5:59 it is one of the longest runs in the catalog and a dark one, averaging well below full, which is what gives the operatic middle its shock value when the car finally opens up. The tail lights lead. The peak is in that middle section, so the whole thing is built around the part everyone secretly waits for. The most theatrical six minutes here.
How this one is choreographed
The choreography is deliberately unhurried: the lights re-fire about 0.5 times a second, so cues land as separate moments rather than a blur. The peak is in the middle third, where roughly 30% of the car is lit against 20% at the top, then it eases back for the finish. If you are filming, the fullest ten seconds start at 2:31, when about 38% of the car is lit at once. Most of the work falls on the tail lights, re-firing about 0.5 times a second, with the front turn signals answering back at 0.5. The work is split close to evenly between the two ends, 52% front to 48% rear, so it plays from either end, or side-on from the curb. The quietest part of the car is the side markers, at about 0.3 re-fires a second. It runs 5:59 and averages 53 of 255 across the light channels, a darker show that spends most of its time well below full, so the hits carry further. The values are mostly hard on or hard off, only about 14% of samples sitting at a partial level, which reads sharp and percussive from across a parking lot. The longest full blackout lasts 1.6 seconds, at 5:53, and that pause is what makes the next hit land.
