Mike Oldfield recorded it largely on his own in 1973, and The Exorcist made its opening piano figure the most unsettling loop in film. The show layers slowly with the music: the rear turn signals lead with the front turn signals answering at an unhurried pace, more than a quarter of the values fading rather than snapping, and it builds through the run as instruments pile on. Dim and patient, six minutes long. A Halloween pick for later in the night, once the little kids have gone home.
